[USS Apollo - NCC-82789]
[Deck 02 - Sickbay]
[Mission Day 04 - 0820 Hours]

After considering Commander Tanner's idea to send a boarding party aboard one of the Andorian ships, Captain Gaudain had ordered a small strike force to be prepared in case it became possible for them to get a transporter signal aboard one of the destroyers. They'd replicated devices that would mask their life signs, but they needed to be tailored to each individual's biology to a very high degree, so they'd been sent to Sickbay.

Ensign Keval was sitting on one of the biobeds, getting her device adjusted. "Andorian weapons do not have a stun setting. It would be wise not to get hit," she noted.

"It would probably be wise not to get hit even if they did," Ensign Murphy replied, as he rolled a crash cart into sickbay from the lab; they would be getting simulated casualties during the war game.

"It's a war game guys - these are Andorians not Jem'Hadar." Caspian sat on the biobed next to Keval, facing her. "Our job is to not get caught - either way, they're not going to kill us."

"It should be... stimulating," Keval noted. "I have read that the Kazon use similar, though far more crude, tactics to the Andorians. Their ship designs favor forward firepower at the expense of versatility."

Caspian nodded. "So I guess the captain'll keep us behind them - give us time to beam aboard and do our stuff..." As she waited for one of the medical officers to attend to her bio-masking device, she looked at T'Pom and Keval in turn. "So you both ready for this?"

"Affirmative, Lieutenant," Keval replied, looking to the Vulcan operations officer.

"Sometimes Oi wish Oi go' the chance to do things like this," commented Rosheen as she scanned Caspian, checked the readout, fiddled with the device, scanned again, etc. "An' other times Ah wish none o' you would go." She shook her head. "Ah never could make up mah mind, could Oi? Ah suppose tha's why Oi'm a Doctor," she continued with a shrug and a smile. "Oi'm sure Oi'll get my chance yet." Curse her accent, it always came out stronger when she was working. One could only hope that her crewmates would get used to it with time.

The away team watched as Doctor Hughes completed the same activity with the remaining bi-masking devices and stepped back.

"Thank you Doctor," Caspian nodded. "Alright. T'Pom, Keval - with me." She slid off the bio-bed and made her way towards the door and out into the passageway beyond. As the small group made their way towards the transporter room, Caspian checked her tricorder for what seemed like the tenth time and ensured yet again that her phaser was in simulation mode.

The doors to the transporter room hissed open as they approached. Caspian nodded a greeting to the transporter chief and stepped up onto the transporter pad. She tapped her communicator.

"Away team to bridge. Standing by to beam over to the lead Andorian vessel on your command."

"Stand by. We're targetting the command ship," Gaudain replied, from the bridge. A few moments later, the away team disappeared in a shimmer of energy.
